Description

A delicious dish featuring creamy cheddar polenta topped with succulent hot honey shrimp.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tbsp Butter (divided)
  • 1 cups Whole Milk (adds creaminess)
  • 1 cup Polenta (foundation of the dish)
  • 0 cup Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder (divided)
  • 1 lb Large or Jumbo Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 0 tsp Onion Powder
  • 0 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 0 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Oregano (chopped)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until fragrant and golden brown. Stir in the milk and 1 1/2 cups of water, bringing to a gentle simmer.
  2. Gradually add the polenta to the simmering liquid, whisking constantly for 8-10 minutes until thick and creamy. Stir in the cheddar cheese, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Remove from heat.
  3. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. In a mixing bowl, combine the shrimp with dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and slightly golden.
  5. Toss the cooked shrimp with the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, honey, minced garlic, and fresh oregano. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Divide the creamy cheddar polenta among bowls and top each with hot honey shrimp. Drizzle with sauce from the skillet and garnish with herbs if desired.
