Decorated Sugar Cookies

Description

These decorated sugar cookies are perfect for any occasion!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 batch Basic Sugar Cookie Recipe
  • 2 cups White Frosting (Store Bought or Homemade)
  • 1 Pink Gel Food Coloring

Instructions

  1. Follow steps 1 through 7 on the sugar cookie recipe card.
  2. After chilling, use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the cookies. Place them on a lined baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch between each one.
  3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
  4. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. In a medium bowl, mix half of the white frosting with a few drops of pink food coloring until you get the color you want.
  6. Add the pink frosting to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  7. Add the remaining white frosting to another piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  8. Pipe the frosting over the cookie until it’s completely covered. Continue this step until all cookies are decorated.
