Ingredients

- 1 pound beef (thinly sliced)
- 2 cups bok choy or other leafy greens (chopped)
- 6 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup beef broth or water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: red pepper flakes for heat
Instructions
- Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the beef slices with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of black pepper. Set aside for 15 minutes.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, and beef broth. Set aside.
- Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Stir-Fry the Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the hot oil and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the skillet and stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until the beef is cooked through and slightly browned.
- Add the Greens: Add the chopped bok choy to the skillet and stir-fry until the greens are wilted and tender, about 2-3 minutes.
- Combine and Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and greens. Stir well to combine and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Finish with Sesame Oil: Drizzle sesame oil over the stir-fry for added flavor.
Notes
- For extra tenderness, use flank steak or sirloin.
- Adjust the garlic amount to suit your taste.
- Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
- To add texture, sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top before serving.
- If you prefer spiciness, add red pepper flakes along with the garlic.
