Description

A quick and delicious stir-fry recipe featuring beef, wide rice noodles, and broccoli in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 200g wide rice noodles
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 12 red chilies, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Noodles: Cook the rice noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the beef slices, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and a pinch of black pepper. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  4. Stir-Fry: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside. In the same pan, add the remaining vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced chilies. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Combine: Add the cooked noodles and the prepared sauce to the pan. Toss everything together to combine. Return the beef to the pan and mix well until everything is coated with the sauce and heated through.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Noodle Variation: You can substitute rice noodles with egg noodles or udon noodles based on your preference.
  • Vegetable Options: Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for extra crunch and nutrition.
  • Spice Level: Adjust the number of chilies to your taste to control the heat level of the dish.
  • Marinating Beef Longer: For a more intense flavor, marinate the beef for up to an hour in advance.
