Smoked Chicken Leg Quarters

Description

Deliciously smoked chicken leg quarters seasoned to perfection and served with barbecue sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Chicken leg quarters
  • 2 Tbsp Head Country Seasoning or your choice
  • to taste Barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel, then add the seasoning to the chicken and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
  2. Add the wood chips and warm up the prepared smoker to 240°F.
  3. Place the chicken on the smoker with some space in between.
  4. Smoke the chicken for around 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours, checking the temperature to be sure they get up to 165°F internal temperature. Use a meat probe or thermometer.
  5. Remove from the smoker.
  6. Let rest for 5-10 minutes then coat with barbecue sauce before serving.

Notes

  • Be sure to check the internal temperature of the chicken to ensure it is fully cooked.
  • Experiment with different seasonings for a varied flavor.
