Description
A delicious and hearty fried rice dish featuring savory beef and fragrant jasmine rice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef (ribeye or sirloin), diced
- 4 cups cooked jasmine rice, refrigerated
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 stalks green onions, chopped
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef: Season the diced beef with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry until it’s browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Cook the Eggs: In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if necessary. Pour in the beaten eggs and scramble until fully cooked. Remove and set aside with the beef.
- Fry the Rice: Add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the cold, cooked rice, breaking up any clumps, and stir-fry until heated through.
- Combine Everything: Return the cooked beef and eggs to the skillet. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil, mixing thoroughly to ensure the rice is evenly coated. Stir in the chopped green onions.
- Final Touch: Taste and adjust seasoning with additional soy sauce, salt, or pepper if needed. Serve hot.
Notes
- For best results, use day-old refrigerated rice. Freshly cooked rice can become mushy.
- You can add vegetables like peas, carrots, or bell peppers for extra flavor and nutrition.
- Make sure your skillet or wok is very hot before adding the ingredients for better stir-frying.
- Feel free to adjust the sauce quantities to your taste preferences.
