Description

A delicious cinnamon cake with a cream cheese swirl.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted (for batter)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted (for swirl)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Mix until just combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter for the swirl.
  5. Pour half the batter into the baking dish, then spoon half the swirl mixture on top.
  6. Add remaining batter, then swirl in the rest of the cinnamon mixture using a knife.
  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. While baking or cooling, beat cream cheese until smooth, then add powdered sugar and cream. Mix until fluffy.
  9. Let cake cool 15–20 minutes before frosting with cream cheese mixture.
  10. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
