Description

A comforting cheesy beef ravioli bake that layers rich flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 Medium Onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 tsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 15 oz Whole Milk Ricotta
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan, divided
  • 1/4 cup Freshly Chopped Basil
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 12-oz Frozen Cheese Ravioli
  • 32 oz Marinara Sauce
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic. Season with salt and pepper until fully cooked.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, egg, half of the Parmesan, and basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Spread a layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Layer ravioli, cheese mixture, and repeat until all ingredients are used. Finish with marinara and mozzarella on top.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Optional: garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or a meat alternative.
  • Use shallots for a milder flavor instead of onion.
  • For a dairy-free recipe, omit the egg or replace it with a flax egg for vegan options.
  • Use dried basil as a substitute for fresh basil (1 tsp for 1 tbsp fresh).
