- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 Medium Onion, chopped
- 1 tsp Kosher Salt
- 1 tsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 15 oz Whole Milk Ricotta
- 1 large Egg
- 1 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan, divided
- 1/4 cup Freshly Chopped Basil
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 12-oz Frozen Cheese Ravioli
- 32 oz Marinara Sauce
- 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic. Season with salt and pepper until fully cooked.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, egg, half of the Parmesan, and basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Spread a layer of marinara sauce at the bottom of a baking dish. Layer ravioli, cheese mixture, and repeat until all ingredients are used. Finish with marinara and mozzarella on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Optional: garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or a meat alternative.
- Use shallots for a milder flavor instead of onion.
- For a dairy-free recipe, omit the egg or replace it with a flax egg for vegan options.
- Use dried basil as a substitute for fresh basil (1 tsp for 1 tbsp fresh).
