- 1 cup boiling water

Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed until well combined.
- Add Boiling Water: Carefully stir in the boiling water until the mixture is well blended. The batter will be thin.
- Pour and Bake: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool Cakes: Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely on a wire rack.
- Assemble Cake: Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of buttercream or frosting over the top. Place the second layer on top and spread frosting over the top and sides of the cake.
- Decorate: Optionally, sprinkle chocolate shavings or sprinkles on top for decoration.

- Use room temperature eggs and milk for better mixing and texture.
- For extra moistness, you can brush each layer with simple syrup before adding frosting.
