Description

A delicious layered dessert featuring rich dark and white chocolate mousse.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 300ml heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 200g white chocolate
  • 300ml heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Chocolate shavings or sprinkles for garnish
  • Chocolate truffles or bars for topping

Instructions

  1. Dark Chocolate Mousse:
    • Melt 200g of dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Stir until smooth, then let it cool slightly.
    • In a separate bowl, whip 300ml of heavy cream with 2 tablespoons of sugar until soft peaks form.
    • Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream until fully combined. Set aside in the fridge.
  2. White Chocolate Mousse:
    • Melt 200g of white chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Stir until smooth, then let it cool slightly.
    • In a separate bowl, whip 300ml of heavy cream with 2 tablespoons of sugar until soft peaks form.
    • Gently fold the melted white chocolate into the whipped cream until fully combined. Set aside in the fridge.
  3. Assembling the Parfait:
    • In a glass or dessert cup, layer the dark chocolate mousse at the bottom.
    • Add a layer of the white chocolate mousse on top.
    • Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the glass, finishing with a layer of dark chocolate mousse.
  4. Garnish:
    • Top with chocolate shavings or sprinkles.
    • Add chocolate truffles or bars for an extra touch.

Notes

  • Ensure that the chocolate is completely cooled before folding it into the whipped cream to prevent melting.
  • For a flavor twist, consider adding a dash of espresso powder to the dark chocolate mousse.
  • Chill the mixing bowls and beaters before whipping the cream for better results.
  • If you prefer, you can add a layer of crushed cookies or biscuits between the mousse layers for extra texture.
