Description

Enjoy your herb-crusted baked chicken breasts!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Prepare the Herb Mixture: In a shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Prepare the Chicken Breasts: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Brush each breast with olive oil to ensure the herb coating sticks properly.
  4. Coat the Chicken: Dredge each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the herbs adhere well on all sides.
  5. Bake the Chicken: Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the crust is golden brown. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken breasts in olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic for at least 30 minutes before coating them.
  • To ensure even cooking, pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness before starting.
  • Serve with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
