Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • 1 baguette, sliced
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add the ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and oregano, and cook until browned.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: Stir in the marinara sauce with the cooked beef. Simmer for 5 minutes and set aside.
  4. Mix Ricotta Filling: In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, half of the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cook the Noodles: Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and cool.
  6. Assemble the Lasagna: In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Place 3 noodles over it. Spread half of the ricotta mixture, followed by a layer of mozzarella. Repeat with another layer of sauce, noodles, remaining ricotta, and mozzarella. Top with a final layer of noodles, remaining sauce, and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  7. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Prepare Garlic Bread: Mix softened butter with garlic and parsley. Spread over sliced baguette pieces. Toast in the oven for 10 minutes or until golden.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Allow lasagna to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with garlic bread.

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of red wine to the meat sauce.
  • Feel free to incorporate vegetables like spinach or zucchini for a healthier twist.
