Description

Indulge in these rich and creamy Oreo chocolate truffles that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pack (14 oz) Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (or milk chocolate chips, if preferred)
  • White chocolate chips for drizzling (optional)
  • Sprinkles or chocolate shavings for coating (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreo Mixture: Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a resealable bag and crushing them with a rolling pin. Mix the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese until well combined and smooth.
  2. Form the Truffles: Scoop small portions of the mixture and roll them into 1-inch balls. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze the truffles for about 15-20 minutes to firm up.
  3. Coat the Truffles: Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave or using a double boiler, stirring until smooth. Dip each Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s evenly coated. Use a fork to remove the truffles and allow any excess chocolate to drip off. Place the coated truffles back onto the parchment paper. If using sprinkles or chocolate shavings, add them now before the chocolate sets.
  4. Add a Finishing Touch: If desired, melt white chocolate chips and drizzle over the coated truffles for decoration.
  5. Setting: Allow the chocolate to set completely at room temperature or by refrigerating the truffles for quicker results.

Notes

  • For a more intense flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet or milk chocolate.
  • Experiment with different types of Oreos (like mint or peanut butter) for varied flavors.
  • These truffles can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • To prevent the chocolate from becoming too thick during coating, add a teaspoon of vegetable oil when melting it.
