Description

A delicious creamy garlic shrimp dish that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • to taste Additional Parmesan cheese for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for about 2 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the butter and melt over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Thicken the Sauce: Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and the sauce thickens. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  5. Combine and Serve: Return the shrimp to the skillet and gently toss to coat in the sauce. Stir in lemon juice and chopped parsley. Serve the shrimp with extra Parmesan and parsley as garnish.

Notes

  • Shrimp: Make sure not to overcook the shrimp to keep them tender.
  • Sauce Consistency: If the sauce is too thick, add a little more chicken broth.
  • Flavor Variations: Add a splash of white wine to the sauce for extra depth.
  • Side Suggestions: Serve with pasta, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the creamy sauce.
