Description

Deliciously creamy cookies with a hint of vanilla, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 225g unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract
  • 130g sweetened condensed milk
  • 290g all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cream the Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the room-temperature butter and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light, pale, and fluffy. This usually takes about 4–5 minutes on medium-high speed. Take your time here—this step adds air and structure to your cookies.
  2. Add the Sweetened Condensed Milk and Vanilla: Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract) and beat again until fully combined. The mixture should look silky and slightly glossy.
  3. Incorporate the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in two parts, mixing on low speed or by hand until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the cookies tender.
  4. Chill the Dough (Optional but Recommended): For the best results, cover the dough and chill for about 30 minutes. This helps firm it up and intensifies the flavor, making it easier to scoop and shape.
  5. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Scoop and Shape: Use a cookie scoop or spoon to portion out the dough—around 1½ tablespoons per cookie. Roll into smooth balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving a little space between each one.
  7. Flatten Gently: Press each cookie down slightly with the back of a spoon or the palm of your hand. If you’d like, you can use a fork to make a crisscross pattern on top.
  8. Bake to Golden Perfection: Bake the cookies for 13–15 minutes, or until the edges are just turning golden. They should be pale on top but set. Remove and let cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
